Pupils at Wallbrook Primary Academy have joined a nationwide effort to help seven-year-old Amelia Kolpa from the Black Country set a UK record for the most birthday cards received. Amelia, who has been receiving intensive treatment and care for neuroblastoma, hopes to receive 8,000 cards for her eighth birthday in March.
In the spirit of kindness and community, pupils at Wallbrook created their own birthday cards, which were delivered to Artisan Espresso Bar to be included in the collection.
School Principal, Lorna McGregor, commented: “Stories like Amelia’s remind us that even small acts of kindness can make a real difference. By creating these cards, our children continue to learn about the power of empathy, the importance of supporting others, and the joy of coming together as a community.
“We hope that these messages of care and encouragement help make Amelia’s birthday extra special.”
Families and members of the community who would like to take part can send birthday cards to one of the following collection points:
- Highfield Primary School, Beeches Road, Rowley Regis, B65 0DA
- Leasowes High School, Kent Road, Halesowen, B62 8PJ
- Artisan Espresso Bar, 168 Halesowen Street, Blackheath, Rowley Regis, B65 0ES
