Wallbrook Primary Academy was transformed into a circus arena as year 1 and 2 children immersed themselves in a day of performances and hands-on workshops. The event, organised in collaboration with Primary Workshops for Schools, introduced children to the captivating world of circus performance.
The day commenced with an assembly featuring a live demonstration of various circus skills, including juggling, plate spinning, and stilt-walking. This lively showcase set the stage for the interactive workshops that followed, allowing pupils to try their hand at these activities.
The event culminated in a showcase, where the young performers proudly demonstrated their newly acquired talents in front of their peers and teachers. The day was a resounding success, bringing their classroom theme, Roll Up, Roll Up!, to life in a memorable and engaging way.
On Monday 10th March, the whole school enjoyed an action-packed science day as part of National Science Week. Children conducted practical experiments with different teachers throughout the day including making their own lava lamps, charming worms out of the ground and lighting a bulb using potatoes! Throughout National Science Week, children also listened to presentations from people with a career in science.
World Book Week was marked with a bedtime story themed day and children were invited to wear their pyjamas to school. After a week of book-themed activities and online author visits, parents were invited to attend Story Escape sessions. The children loved sharing a story with their adults!
Wallbrook Primary Academy remains dedicated to providing enriching learning experiences that foster creativity and hands-on participation. These events were proven to be unforgettable highlights for both children and staff.
