Pupil Sports Leaders at Wallbrook Primary Academy have embarked on their training with Sprint Active, an organisation dedicated to promoting physical activity and sports leadership in schools. Sprint Active specialises in delivering high-quality training programmes that empower learners to lead in sports and physical activity sessions, helping to create a positive and active school culture.
The programme is designed to equip pupils with the skills needed to lead playground games, assist teachers during PE lessons, and encourage physical activity while fostering teamwork among their peers.
Lorna McGregor, Principal at Wallbrook Primary Academy, said: “We are thrilled to see our Sports Leaders begin their training with such enthusiasm, embracing the important role they will play within the school.
“This programme not only helps develop leadership and teamwork skills but also encourages our pupils to become active, positive role models. It’s wonderful to watch them grow in confidence as they take on new responsibilities, and we’re excited to see the positive impact they will have on our school community.”
The programme presents a fantastic opportunity to foster an active and supportive school environment. The Academy is excited to see how the Sports Leaders will inspire their peers to stay active, adopt healthy habits, and lead by example.
